Dear Vaccine Choice Canada,
Almost 14 years ago, my baby girl, Marina Jane, 8, died from vaccine damage. I received a flu shot when I was 11 weeks pregnant that I reacted to and she was born in May of the new millennium with uncontrollable seizures, which got worse with each vaccine, and each year –until her death.
At the time, I felt so alone and very isolated caring for my sick child. And then I found you. I connected with Edda West and found someone who believed me. Because of that I was able to believe in myself. Because of you, I found the strength to continue to speak the truth and stand up for choice for others, my other children and those who did not yet know.
Often times, these years have still felt very lonely; I can’t even tell you how hard the past two years have been being isolated once again.
Except, one day I realized that 22 years ago, we were all very alone and isolated in our fight for truth, informed consent and choice – and now, millions of people around the world are standing up together. We are no longer alone. I am no longer alone.
Thank you for being that place, the organization who believed and continued to tell our stories; you have much to celebrate. Congratulations.
Kind regards, Janaia
