Dear VCC Community,
I’ve had the pleasure and benefit of some interesting conversations this week. One was with Vincent Gircys who described the past three years this way. He said — “There was a magic show, a bank robbery, and a multi-car pile-up.” The magic show is the amount of deception we have experienced. The bank robbery is the transfer of wealth to big business, banks, media and those who would comply with the magic show. And the multi-car pile-up is the casualties caused by those at the front who made the wrong decisions.
Vincent also introduced me to the musings of Kate Wand. In the video found below, Kate presents the idea that humanity has repeatedly gone through cycles of creation and destruction, and that it’s possible, even likely, that a pending destruction cannot be avoided. She calls those of us who see the destruction “the remnants”. Our responsibility is to survive the pending collapse so we can rebuild a new and better society.
And finally, Dr. Denis Rancourt, who was our guest at our national VCC zoom meeting on Wednesday. Dr. Rancourt was asked – What gives you hope? He responded with – “I don’t deal in hope. I deal in action.” He also said – “I measure life by the amount of new knowledge I acquire.” He then described the past three years as an explosion of creativity and resilience, which fills him with hope.
There is no doubt in my mind that we are in a new time. I too see that we are in a period of death and rebirth. When I stand back and observe the human condition from this 30,000 foot level, our purpose becomes clearer. It is our job to be the light to lead us through this darkness.
