Dear VCC Community,

Vaccine Choice Canada was born out of the need to challenge the legislation introduced by the Ontario Government in 1982 to mandate vaccination for children to receive a public education. 

For four decades, VCC has supported families of vaccine injured children and advocated for fully informed consent, bodily autonomy, and the right and responsibility of parents to make medical decisions for their children. 

After decades of activism, VCC recognized that it is not enough to support families of vaccine injured children. We need to stop the injuries from happening in the first place. Our focus now is not unlike the story of rescuing individuals who are drowning in a river. At some point someone suggests moving upstream to stop those who are throwing them in the water.

With this in mind, VCC produced two valuable resources in 2024/2025 - A New Parents Guide to Understanding Vaccination and Pregnancy and Vaccination. Our goal with each of these books is to invite individuals to inform themselves on the risks of vaccination before participating in the vaccine ritual. 

I’m pleased to announce that VCC has just completed our latest book in this series – Dare to Question: A Young Adult's Guide to Vaccination. Our goal with this resource is to engage and inform young adults before they consider forming a family. Also, to engage these young adults before they embark on a career path. 

What we have witnessed in recent years is that there is a well-organized and intentional effort to undermine the right of young adults to make informed decisions with regard to vaccination. Adolescents and young adults are actively targeted by the pro-vaccination lobby. Vaccine clinics are increasingly located within schools. School curriculum has been modified to add a strong pro-vaccine agenda with much of the messaging utilizing fear and coercion rather than informed consent. 

The vaccine industry is also abusing the ‘mature minor’ doctrine legislated by all provincial governments in Canada to vaccinate those under the legal age of consent without the knowledge or consent of their parents. The result is young people are being pressured to accept a medical intervention that can have life-changing consequences without adequate information to make a fully informed decision. 

Additionally, employment in many career paths, especially in the healthcare and travel sectors, is threatened by vaccination requirements. This means that, at any point in their career, those in this career may be required to comply with vaccine requirements to maintain licensing or employment. Failure to comply could, and does, result in the loss of one’s job, or even their career.

We saw this happen during COVID when thousands of health professionals—doctors, nurses, pharmacists, and even administrative support staff—had their employment abruptly terminated for failing to comply with vaccination requirements. Many were forced to abandon their careers, move to a region or country that honoured medical choice, or retire prematurely. 

We want our young adults to be well informed when making career decisions to understand the threat to bodily autonomy that many career paths pose before spending years and hundreds of thousands of dollars in pursuit of a profession only to discover that vaccination is mandated to continue.

We think our new resource will alert young adults to the coercion that threatens their health and autonomy. We also think the information in Dare to Question: A Young Adult's Guide to Understanding Vaccination will guide them in their decisions around marriage and family. Our goal is not only to end vaccine injuries but also to inform and empower young adults to be strong advocates for informed consent and bodily autonomy.

The last 2 weeks have flown by -- and C-9 is still in the Senate. Senators are mixed on whether or not C-9 has the right approach. No amendments have been tabled yet. One Senator suggested that the Attorney General consent clause should be removed so that it is easier to prosecute.

Hilary Butler and her late husband Peter Butler have been fighting the medical system, the vaccine industry, and pharmaceutical companies for decades.
