Dear VCC Community,
I want to share a message I received this week from Dr. Mark Brody. Dr. Brody
articulates a question that has been in my heart these last many months - “How does one inspire others to a higher realm, when they consider you to be a crazy anti-vaxxer conspiracy theorist?”
His answer is equally thought-provoking - “I think a partial answer is to avoid becoming what opposes your values: nasty, recriminative, hostile, and hurtful. I
guess living your values is a good place to start - walking the walk. Will it be sufficient? I think we have to keep the faith that if we stay on the right path, those who have veered off into the wilderness
will eventually want to join us. Regrettably, it appears they will need to come only when they are ready, and not when we would like them to come. In the meantime, we can only shine the light forward and hope
they will see it from out in the darkness.”
Our strength is in our light. Do not be discouraged or deterred. Stay the course. There
is no higher purpose. Truth and love is the way forward.
