Police on Guard for Thee
We
had the pleasure of having retired Ontario Provincial Police officer,
Vincent Gircys, as our guest on the December 23rd VCC National Zoom
call. Vincent shared with us the adaptation of Martin Niemöller's
well known words - new words and thoughts that befit the situation that
we find ourselves in today:
First they came for your freedom of movement, but you were free to move around so you didn't speak up.
Then they came for your freedom of assembly, but you were still free to gather with friends, so you didn't speak up.
Then they came after small businesses, but you don't own one, so you didn't speak up.
Then they came for your freedom to protest, but you didn't care because you never protest, so you didn't speak out.
Then they came for your freedom of religion, but you're not religious, so you didn't speak out.
Then they came for your freedom of choice, but you still had choice, so you didn't speak out.
Then when they came and attacked your freedom, there was nobody left to speak out for you.
Vincent also shared these thoughts at the end of his presentation:
"So,
I'll tell you what I believe. I believe there is a duty incumbent
on our police services to understand the moral principles in play, and
to provide the moral courage to keep that fabric of our society from
tearing itself apart. And this can only happen if the moral
compass is calibrated. Therein lies the problem. The moral
compass. So I would ask each and every officer who has taken the
oath, to ensure that they check their moral compass. Because, that
is what it's going to take us to get through this - moral courage, and
if your compass is not calibrated, we are in big
trouble."
You

Since our meeting, Vincent has joined the group, Police on Guard for Thee (Facebook and Twitter, webpage coming soon). Police on Guard for Thee
is gaining thousands of members daily - national and international
police officers (both active and retired), who are willing to stand up
against the government violations of their oath, Charter rights, and the
Police Act. Please like and
follow Police on Guard for Thee, and let others know about this very hopeful news. Heartfelt thanks going out to you, Vincent!
Canada Health Alliance
More
hopeful news!! Dr. Stephen Malthouse has announced the formation
of the group, Canada Health Alliance, which is a group of physicians,
nurses and allied health professionals who are organizing actions geared
to protect our medical freedoms and Charter rights. We'll be
sharing more information regarding ways of making connections, etc as
that becomes available. Thank you for your amazing dedication to
the health of Canadians, Dr. Malthouse!
Stephen also asked for our support of the new petition - Stop Medical Discrimination. Please sign this important petition and share widely.
